WTF is a Schnabel, Anyway?

Is this a true Schnabel or just a heavy lift device?

Pretty interesting. How they navigate difficult areas such as under bridges, through tunnels and close to Grandma's house is pretty cool. Anyone know much about how they do this and the tricks these guys use to move massive structures?

Harder to find is

home.att.net/~Berliner-Ul  trasonics/rrschnab.html

home.att.net/~Berliner-Ul  trasonics/roadld-5.html#m  cmurray

Pasting links here is a bit of a pain - you have to use the graphical icon somehow - aaarghh.

Technically, I think a "schnabel" is a transportation assembly that makes the load part of the supporting structure, I'll follow up to clarify.
